Invisalign®

For decades, highly visible metal braces have been used to straighten teeth during adolescence. The latest in dental technology, Invisalign®, is a modern orthodontic treatment that is perfect for teenage patients who want to straighten their teeth without the use of metal braces. Unlike traditional orthodontic braces, Invisalign® aligners are removable and very difficult to detect. Invisalign® straightening trays are designed to sit comfortably over your top and bottom teeth. Crafted from quality plastic, these ultra-thin trays are custom fit for each patient, and are worn at all times except when eating, drinking, or cleaning your teeth. Every few weeks, patients begin to wear a new set of straightening trays that gradually bring your teeth into alignment. During a consultation for our Philadelphia Invisalign® treatments, Dr. Wilderman uses 3-D imaging to preview for patients how their smile will appear during and after the procedure. This extra step ensures stunning, predictable results.

All-White Fillings

Tooth decay is the most common dental issue among teens. Tooth decay occurs when tiny food particles, the acids from juice or soda, or other bacteria combine into plaque. If plaque is left untreated, even for a short time, it can eat away at the tooth's enamel, eventually damaging the inner structure of the tooth. All-white fillings are made from tooth-colored resin composites chosen to blend naturally with the surrounding teeth. The strength and durability of dental composites surpasses traditional unsightly metal amalgam fillings and allows your teen to retain a natural-looking smile. The composite materials used at Artistic Expressions Dentistry are non-metallic and do not shrink or expand like metal amalgam fillings.

Porcelain Dental Crowns

Teenage patients who have a cracked or misshapen tooth will benefit from the placement of a porcelain dental crown. Our crowns are crafted from the highest grade materials that protect and strengthen teeth while correcting many cosmetic flaws. Porcelain crowns are also a natural-looking way to rejuvenate the smiles of patients that have experienced an unfortunate accident resulting from sports or other injury.

Routine Check-Ups and Cleanings

Preventative care is the number one priority in maintaining your teen's teeth. Daily brushing and flossing is key, but even with these cleanings plaque can build up, which is why it’s important to visit your dentist regularly for in-depth cleanings. Dr. Wilderman can also assess your teenager for potential oral health risks.
